Terms of Service
Effective October 14, 2026 · Last updated October 14, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and CardMint (“CardMint”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the CardMint website at cardmint.co, CardMint for Shops and their related services (the “Service”). Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you have a question, contact us at customer_support@cardmint.co.
The short version
- CardMint identifies and values trading cards from your photos. It can be wrong: check what matters before you buy, sell or insure a card.
- Prices are estimates from marketplace data, and sometimes AI estimates. They are not appraisals, offers or financial advice.
- Paid plans renew until you cancel. You can cancel any time and keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Scan packs are bought once and don't expire.
- Your photos and notes stay yours. You choose what's public.
- Don't misuse the Service: no scraping, no abuse, nothing illegal.
- Other apps called CardMint aren't us. See how to tell it's us.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use CardMint for a business, such as a card shop, you agree to them for that business too, and you confirm you're allowed to. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Who can use CardMint
You must be at least 13 to use CardMint. If you are under 18, use it only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. Purchases must be made by an adult.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep your email address current: we use it for sign-in, receipts and important notices.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
- One account per person. An account is personal and can't be sold or transferred.
- We'll never ask for your password by email, text or direct message.
4. What CardMint does, and doesn't
CardMint reads your card photos with automated tools, including AI, to identify each card (player or character, year, set, number, parallel and so on), checks it against reference data where we have it, and shows price information.
- Identification can be wrong. Similar cards, parallels and finishes can be hard to tell apart from a photo. Cards we're unsure of are marked for review, but not every mistake is caught. Check the details before relying on them, and correct them when they're wrong.
- Prices are estimates. They come from marketplace listings and sales and, where there isn't enough data, from AI estimates, which we label. They are not appraisals, offers to buy or sell, or a guarantee of what a card is worth or will sell for.
- Not professional advice. Nothing on CardMint is financial, investment, tax or insurance advice, or a grading or authentication service.
5. Plans, scans and payment
- Free accounts include a limited number of scans for the life of the account, as shown on our Pricing page.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel. Each includes the scans shown on the Pricing page for each period; unused plan scans don't carry over.
- Canceling. You can cancel any time from your profile or the Pricing page. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Scan packs are bought once, are not a subscription and don't expire while your account is open. Scans an admin adds to your account as a courtesy are one-time scans too.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in U.S. dollars and don't include taxes, which are added where required.
- Price changes. If we change the price of a plan you're on, we'll tell you in advance, as the law requires, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise or we say so at the time (for example, after a price change), payments are not refundable, including for partial periods and scans you've used. If something went wrong, contact us and we'll look at it.
6. CardMint for Shops
- A shop is a separate workspace with its own inventory, scans and plan. Shop data never appears in anyone's personal collection, and personal collections never appear in a shop.
- The shop's owners are responsible for the shop: who they invite, the roles they give, and what their staff do in it. A shop and its data belong to the business, not to the individual staff member.
- Shop plans are priced per store and billed to the shop. A free pilot runs for the period we agree and then stops unless the shop picks a plan; nothing is charged for the pilot.
- Files you export from CardMint (for Shopify, Cin7 Core or anything else) are yours to check before you import them elsewhere. We're not responsible for listings, prices or stock levels in other systems.
7. Your content
Your card photos, notes and the details you enter (“your content”) stay yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run and improve the Service: for example, to identify and price your cards, to show cards you've made public, and to check and improve how accurately CardMint identifies cards. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for a time as the Privacy Policy explains.
Only upload content you have the right to share. Card designs, logos and player images belong to their owners; photographing a card you own to catalog it is what CardMint is for, but don't upload content that infringes anyone's rights. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
8. Public cards
Cards are private unless you make them public. Public cards, and your username unless you post anonymously, can be seen by anyone in the community gallery. Don't put personal information, yours or anyone else's, in public notes or photos. We may hide a public card that breaks these terms.
9. Acceptable use
Don't:
- break the law, or use CardMint to deceive anyone, for example by misrepresenting a card you're selling;
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service or its data, or use it to build a competing product;
- get around scan limits, plan limits or security, or use someone else's account;
- interfere with the Service, overload it, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or sexually explicit;
- pretend to be CardMint or another person.
10. eBay and other services
If you connect eBay, CardMint lists the cards you choose under your eBay account. You're the seller, eBay's own terms apply to those listings and sales, and we're not a party to them. The Service also relies on others, such as Stripe for payments. We aren't responsible for services we don't control.
11. Changes to the Service
We're always improving CardMint, so features change. We may add, change or remove features, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. If we remove something you pay for, we'll tell you and treat you fairly.
12. Ending your account
You can delete your account any time from your profile. Deleting it cancels a paid plan immediately, with no further charges; the current period isn't refunded. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or exposes us to legal liability. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data. Sections 4, 7 (for copies we must keep), and 13 to 16 continue after your account ends.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that identifications, prices or other information will be accurate, complete or current, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CardMint won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Service, including a decision to buy, sell, price or insure a card. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
15. Indemnity
If you use the Service in a way that breaks these terms or the law, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where CardMint is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to sort it out. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live that can't be waived by agreement.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the “Last updated” date above, and if a change is material we'll tell you by email or with a notice on CardMint before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
